Thayabaran Kathiresan, Dr.

  • Post-Doc

I am a post-doctoral researcher working in two SNSF projects a) Dynamics of Indexical Information in Speech and its Role in Speech Communication and Speaker Recognition, and b) "Voice Theft": Chances and risks of digital voice technology with Prof. Dr. Volker Dellwo. I am also a lecturer at the University of Zürich in the Phonetics and Speech Sciences group, Institute of Computational Linguistics. I have a Ph.D. in computational linguistics and phonetics.

Research

My primary research focuses on understanding the indexical information (speech cues that help in answering the question who's speaking) variability in speech and its implication on automatic speaker recognition systems. My secondary research interests are voice-conversion, speech synthesis, automatic speech recognition, and speech signal processing.
