I am a post-doctoral researcher working in the SNSF project on better language understanding with multi-lingual and multi-task learning with Prof. Dr. Rico Sennrich. I obtained my Ph.D. from the University of Trento in Italy where I worked on unsupervised methods for morphology learning in order to achieve open-vocabulary neural machine translation. I have a background in engineering, with a bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronics engineering from Middle East Technical University, Turkey and a master’s degree in embedded multimedia systems from KU Leuven, Belgium, where I specialized in computer science and speech processing applications. During my Ph.D. I was a visiting student at the University of Edinburgh and did an internship in applied science with the machine translation group at Amazon Berlin.
